Large security breach at Anthem.. millions of SSN may be stolen. this will keep happening if we don't figure out an alternative to SSN. We can't use SSN for everything and expect it to be secure.

With Anthem being "hacked" and all the others that have been compromised, at what point do the people affected get financial compensation? I don't understand how a multi-billion dollar company wouldn't be held forever financially liable for every single person whose data was leaked and will now have a lifetime of possible identity theft.

Georgia Tech offers insurance through BlueCross, which is under Anthem. Anthem was recently the target of a *massive* scale hack, in which customer's social security numbers, emails, addresses, medical ID's, and more we're stolen.
